                                 LYE & WOLLESCOTE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Please scroll to the bottom of the page for latest information.

The Society came into being in March of 2003, instigated by local author Pat Dunn following the success of her third book of Lye & Wollescote in Old Photographs, and the interest shown following the book launch in November 2002.  The Society, having held its first public meeting on Thursday the 17th April 2003, is now entering its 8th year.

Membership has grown as the years have gone by and it is very pleasing to have so many familiar faces at the monthly meetings, also to see new people coming along each month.   A variety of talks with local history themes are presented throughout the year, which are well received by our audiences.    The Society’s various social activities, such as quiz nights, outings and the annual lunch, are also very popular with members.

The Society meets on the third Thursday of every month at Wollescote Community Centre, Wassell Road, Wollescote at 2.30 p.m.

If you require any further information or would like to become a member, please contact the Chairman:  Marlene Price on 01384 895248.
